Websites for restaurants, bars and cafés
A restaurant website that makes people hungry and brings direct bookings.
Tourists and expats choose where to eat on their phone, standing on the pavement, in under a minute. A menu that opens fast, photos that tempt and one button to book: anything else gets in the way.
What holds back restaurants online
Three problems I see every week.
Booking platforms keep the margin.
Reservation and delivery apps take a commission or a fee that weighs on your margin. A direct channel, with booking by WhatsApp or phone, brings part of that money back, especially from guests who already know the place.
The menu is a PDF nobody opens.
A heavy PDF, unreadable on a phone, in Portuguese only and out of date for three months. A tourist closes it and goes to the next Google Maps result.
Instagram does not show up on Google.
Your photos look great on Instagram, but someone searching "best seafood restaurant Lisbon" finds the competitor with a website and a well-kept Google profile.
What your website will have
Built for your sector, not adapted from a template.
On top of what every project includes — technical SEO, speed, lead tracking and a review of your copy — the website includes what makes a difference in your sector:
A real digital menu
Fast on mobile, with photos, categories and prices you update in a Google Sheet without depending on anyone. Available in English and Portuguese, and it works as a QR code menu on the table.
Booking by WhatsApp
Guests ask for a table and the message arrives ready in your WhatsApp. No commission per booking. If you use TheFork or similar, the site links to it too.
Google Maps near the top
You verify the Google profile; I complete photos, hours, menu and reviews so you appear when someone looks for somewhere to eat nearby.
Photos that sell
A layout designed for food photography. No good photos yet? I tell you how to shoot them with a phone or a photographer, the investment with the best return.
Events and groups
A page for birthdays, team dinners and private events, which are often the highest-value bookings.
Clear hours and location
Address, parking, special holiday hours. The basics that, when missing, make guests give up.
Allergen information and the complaints book
EU Regulation 1169/2011, applied in Portugal, requires restaurants and cafés to give information on the 14 listed allergens, including for dishes that are not pre-packed. An online menu is a practical place to do it: each dish can list its allergens and say where to ask for more detail. Many businesses in Portugal must also offer the electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações) and publicise access to it on their website, so I add the official link where it applies to you. Check your obligations with ASAE or your accountant; final responsibility is yours.

Braza
Embers and smoke, an editorial menu and booking up front. It is a fictional website (in Portuguese), built to show the level of finish — yours will be designed from scratch for your brand.

Preview before the balance
You see the finished site working on a preview link and only pay the second half after you approve it.
90+ performance
Minimum score of 90 on PageSpeed Insights (mobile) at launch, with the site on the Essential plan hosting or another host I recommend. If it falls short, I fix it at no cost.
Deadline with a penalty
If the delay is mine, you get 10% off per week. The deadline starts once I have received all the material. It's in the contract.
Everything in your name
Domain, code and logins stay with you. If you ever want to leave, you take everything — no permission needed.
Questions from people in the trade
Questions about websites for restaurants
Can I update the menu and prices myself?
Yes. The menu lives in a Google Sheet: you change dishes and prices there and the site updates itself within minutes. At handover you get a short video showing how. If you would rather not touch it, the Growth monthly plan includes those changes.
Does it replace TheFork or delivery apps?
It does not need to. The platforms bring new guests; the site and WhatsApp let people who already know you book direct, with no commission. The two channels live side by side.
Can I take online payments for orders?
Yes, by integrating an ordering or payment platform. That is a custom project. For most places, booking by WhatsApp with payment at the table already works.
Does the QR code menu work at the table?
Yes. The same menu as the website opens from the QR code, fast and always up to date, with no PDF and nothing to reprint when a price changes. It can show the allergen information for each dish.
How long does it take?
A Presence landing page is ready in about 10 days, assuming the menu and photos already exist.
